AhlulBayt News Agency: A cleric from India commended late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s practical support for the world’s oppressed people.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Reza Zararah, who is in charge of the Qom branch of the Majlis-E-Ulama-E-Hind, said Iran’s president and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who, along with several others, were martyred in a recent helicopter crash, practically supported the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.

Their efforts shed light on the Israeli regime’s atrocities and acts of oppression and humiliated the occupying regime before the world’s eyes, he stated.

He said the issue of Palestine were the first priority for the Iranian president and top diplomat and the two senior officials acted in defense of Palestinians while other Muslim world politicians and officials were either silent or backed the Israeli oppressors.

Ayatollah Raisi believed that resistance is a strategic option for materializing the liberation of Palestine and considered resistance as the first line of defense for the resistance front and the Islamic Ummah, Hojat-ol-Islam Zararah pointed out.

He noted that Raisi would always reiterated the Islamic Republic’s resolve to continue supporting the resistance front until the goals of the Palestinian nation and the Muslim Ummah are materialized.

The Indian cleric added that the active foreign policy of President Raisi’s government brought the voice of the oppressed Palestinians to the world.

Elsewhere in the interview, Hojat-ol-Islam Zararah said the world has lost two figures who devoted their life to the spread of Islam, defending the Quran, development of Iran and welfare of the poor.

They also lived a simple life that is a lesson and a model for everyone to follow, he stated.

He also referred to the popularity of the two martyrs and said God has promised that He would give dignity and popularity to true believers who do good deeds.

A helicopter carrying President Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, Friday prayers leader of Tabriz Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-e-Hashem, Governor of East Azarbaijan Malek Rahmati, the commander of the president’s security team, two pilots and a flight crew crashed in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on May 19, 2024.

Their bodies were found a day later after an extensive night-long search operation.

Iran observed five days of national mourning with funeral processions held for the victims in multiple cities last week.
