AhlulBayt News Agency: A group of religious and political figures, scholars and people from all walks of life attended a memorial service held for the martyrs of a recent helicopter crash in Iran.
The ceremony was the first of such meetings by Active Union Organization, the organization of Shias in Nepal held in Nepalganj, near the southern borders of the country with India on Saturday.
The meeting began with recitation of verses from holy Qur’an before a minute of silence was observed in memory of the Iranian delegation of officials martyred in the tragic helicopter incident.
Also in this meeting, a number of prominent poets read poems on the Iranian martyred officials, Ahlul Bayt (AS), the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUT), the Battle of Karbala and martyrdom.
Mohammad Zeinul Abedin from the organizing group elaborated on the biography and services by late Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian as well as their contribution to the Palestine cause and promotion of Islam and holy Qur’an.
Political figures, including Member of Parliament, Haji Abdul Hamid Siddiqi, journalists and prominent religious figures including Maulana Mansur Ahmad Arefi, Maulana Saqir Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Shakir Ali Hafiz and Maulana Meraj Ahmad as well as Hindu and Christian figures attended the memorial service held for the martyred Iranian delegation.
The memorial service came a week after a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Friday prayer leader of Tabriz, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem and Malek Rahmati, the governor of Iran’s East Azarbaijan province crashed in northwest Iran killing all people on board.
A number of neighboring or Islamic governments including Iraq, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Lebanon announced national mourning in solidarity with the Islamic Republic and memorial services have been held in several other countries.
