Medina has seen the arrival of approximately 364,759 foreign pilgrims ahead of the forthcoming annual Hajj pilgrimage, as per recent reports.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Medina has seen the arrival of approximately 364,759 foreign pilgrims ahead of the forthcoming annual Hajj pilgrimage, as per recent reports.

The influx of pilgrims primarily entered through the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport, with no specific figures disclosed by a local Saudi newspaper.

To date, 186,631 of these pilgrims have traveled from Medina to Mecca to commence their Hajj rituals.

Current data suggests that Medina's hotel occupancy stands at 52 percent capacity.

It is a common practice for Muslims to visit Medina either before or after their Hajj obligations.

The majority arrive via the city's airport and proceed to the Prophet’s Mosque, the second most sacred site in Islam, to pray and visit Al Rawda Al Sharifa, the resting place of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Official figures from 2023 indicate that over 280 million Muslims offered prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque.

This year, it is anticipated that more than 2 million Muslims worldwide will partake in the Hajj pilgrimage.
