AhlulBayt News Agency: The city of Turkestan in Kazakhstan has witnessed the reprinting of the first translation of the Holy Quran into old Turkish.
This translation is the only complete one in Turkish and is preserved in the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts in Istanbul under the name “Istanbul Version”.
Turkestan, located in southern Kazakhstan and formerly known as Yasi, saw the republication of this old version containing a comprehensive translation of the meanings of the Quran into Turkish, making it the first of its kind in Kazakhstan.
The translation was presented during the International Turkish Academy Conference in Kazakhstan under the title “Turkestan: The Spiritual Capital of the Turkic World”.
The conference also highlighted a study on the translation’s introduction written by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
It is worth mentioning that the first translation of the Hoky Quran into Turkish in Kazakhstan was written in the 10th century by a team of Turkish scholars.
