Ahlulbayt News Agency: Hajj pilgrims should appreciate the importance and value of the spiritual journey and make the most of every moment during the pilgrimage.
This is according to Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abdol Fattah Navvab, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, speaking in a TV program on Tuesday.
He said there have been many Muslims who have not had the opportunity to make this journey in their lifetime and the Hajj pilgrims who gain such an opportunity should try to benefit from every moment of it.
The senior cleric referred to the enormous Thawabs (rewards) for those doing good deeds, saying prayers and reciting supplications during this pilgrimage and said the potential of every second of this journey should be fully appreciated.
Hojat-ol-Islam Navvab also highlighted the significance of Haqq al-Naas (the right of people; what one owes to other people) and noted that Hajj pilgrims should make sure that they have fulfilled their obligations in this regard before embarking on the Hajj journey.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior cleric noted that this year’s Hajj has been named Hajj of Bira’ah (disavowal of pagans an enemies of Islam), adding that today, all Muslims are sad due to what is happening in the Gaza Strip.
He added that there is no place in the world today where people do not protest the Israeli regime’s atrocities, highlighting the student movements in the US and Europe against the war on Gaza.
In a meeting with Iranian officials in charge of Hajj pilgrimage affairs earlier this month, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said this year’s Hajj rituals should be a disavowal of the Zionist criminal enemy of Muslims and its supporters.
Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
The annual pilgrimage is regarded as one of the pillars of Islam and the largest act of mass pilgrimage in the world.
It is also a demonstration of Muslims’ unity and their submission to Allah.
