As many as 18 hospitals and medical centers are ready to serve pilgrims in the holy city of Medina during this year’s Hajj.

AhlulBayt News Agency: As many as 18 hospitals and medical centers are ready to serve pilgrims in the holy city of Medina during this year’s Hajj.

Medina’s health department has prepared the medical centers.

The facilities have over 20,000 staff members, advanced medical equipment, laboratories, blood banks, vaccines, and emergency care services, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.

The annual pilgrimage is regarded as one of the pillars of Islam and the largest act of mass pilgrimage in the world.

It is also a demonstration of Muslims’ unity and their submission to Allah.

This year’s Hajj is expected to fall between Friday, June 14, and Wednesday, June 19.
