AhlulBayt Nwes Agency: Issuing a statement on the occasion of Nakba Day, Iran's foreign ministry condemned the continued Israeli aggression against Gaza and declared the country's support for the full membership of Palestine at the UN.
The 14th of May 1948 was the beginning of the calamitous period of the occupation of Palestine and the clear violation of the rights of the Palestinian oppressed people, especially their right to self-determination, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran said.
Nakba Day is the anniversary of the establishment of the apartheid and occupying Zionist regime in the heart of the Islamic world with the malicious conspiracy of British colonialism and the beginning of the bloody period of genocide, massacre, displacement, occupation, and desecration of the holy land of Palestine with the green light and direct and indirect support of the colonial powers of the world, especially the United States of America, it added.
Terming the Zionist regime a clear symbol of organized terrorism, the Iranian foreign ministry said that the discovery of mass graves in Gaza hospitals portrays a horrible picture of this brutal regime's crime against humanity.
Committing international crimes, including war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, is considered contrary to the fundamental values of the United Nations and all recognized international norms, and principles, it added, calling for taking punitive measures against the Zionist criminals.
The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the killing of more than 35,000 innocent people and injury of 75,000 people and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of helpless people in the occupied Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime with all-out political, military, intelligence, and economic support of the United States in the past seven months, the statement added.
The action of the United States in disrupting the process of stopping the war against Gaza and its recent opposition to the recognition of the Palestinian state in the United Nations is unacceptable, irresponsible, and contrary to the request of the international community, it further stressed.
Emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran's steadfast position regarding the issue of Palestine and the fake and illegitimate Zionist regime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again declared its solidarity with the cause of the Palestinian nation and emphasized that the issue of Palestine is at the top of the issues of the Islamic world.
"Also, the Islamic Republic of Iran declares its support for the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations and considers the acceptance of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations as the first step and turning point in dealing with the historical injustices that the Palestinian people have endured with patience and trust."
The occurrence of recent anti-Zionist events lays the groundwork for future events, which will lead to the complete removal of the occupation from the Palestinian land and the realization of the historical rights of its people, especially the formation of an independent and unified state of Palestine, with the holy al-Quds as its capital, it added.
