Supporters of Palestine stage rally in New York

On the eve of Nakba Day, supporters of Palestine took to the streets in the densely populated area of Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York, and declared solidarity with the Palestinians.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): On the eve of Nakba Day, supporters of Palestine took to the streets in the densely populated area of Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York, and declared solidarity with the Palestinians.

The occasion, known as Nakba Day, marks the establishment of Israel as a “Jewish-majority state” at the expense of the near-total destruction of Palestinian society.

According to Iran Press, people, students and supporters of Palestine carried Palestinian flags and chanted the slogan "Free Palestine" in the march of solidarity with the Palestinians in the Brooklyn and Manhattan areas of New York on Saturday evening.

A group with a car and holding a Palestinian flag in New York declared their support for the Palestinian land and the rights of the Palestinians on the eve of Nakba Day.

American police forces were heavily present on the route of the Palestinian supporters' march arrested several female marchers and transferred them to the police bus.

Nakba translates to “catastrophe” in Arabic, which demonstrates how Palestinians feel about the emergence of Israel. The day in question is May 15, 1948, when the establishment of Israel resulted in the forced expulsion of 750,000 Palestinians, two-thirds of the Palestinian population at the time.
