AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A young Peruvian man has said the Shahadah in Imam Reza shrine and converted to Islam under the auspices of Deputy Office for International Pilgrims Affairs.
According to Jorge Daniel, 34, from Peru in South America, the idea of visiting Imam Reza shrine passed his mind when he saw an Iranian traveler in Peru last year.
“When my friends heard I had decided to visit Iran, they tried to dissuade me as they were heavily influenced with false representation of Iran in Western media. On the other hand, a few friends of mine, who had already been to Iran, were impressed with the security and encouraged me to go for it and visit Iran”, stated Jorge.
The newly convert, who visited Turkey right before Iran, added: “I came to Iran, which is the hub of Islam, to find answers to my questions”.
“I had gone to a mosque in Peru and gotten familiar with the Holy Quran before converting to Islam. This familiarization with the holy book prepared my mind to accept the faith”, continued he.
