AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters today called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in order to avoid further humanitarian disasters.
“The suffering in Gaza cannot be allowed to increase,” Peters said in a statement on the government’s website, stressing his country’s support for a long-term solution that allows the Palestinian and Israeli people to live in security and peace.”
He stressed the need to reach a truce and prisoner exchange agreement mediated by Egypt and Qatar to avoid more humanitarian disasters in the Strip.
The minister described the Israeli ground attack on Rafah as unacceptable.
