AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The ten-day Karamat celebrations will include 120,000 programs with the theme of family, an official said.
Hojat-ol-Islam Kamaleddin Khodadadeh, head of the central committee for organizing the Karamat celebrations, made the remark at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Islamic Development Coordination Council on Tuesday.
The Karamat Celebrations mark the ten days between the birth anniversaries of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and Imam Reza (AS), the daughter and son of the 7th Shia Imam.
Thursday, May 9, will be the first day of the lunar Hijri month of Dhul Qaada, which marks the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA).
Imam Reza’s (AS) birthday anniversary will be celebrated on the 11th day of Dhul Qaada, which falls on Monday, May 20, this year.
Hojat-ol-Islam Khodadadeh described the Karamat Celebrations as one of the country’s major cultural events, stressing the need for making the most of the opportunity with proper planning.
He also referred to the importance of family and said it is a main theme of the programs in this year’s celebrations.
There will be over 120,000 cultural, art, scientific, social, sport and other programs with this theme at mosques, holy sites and other places, he noted.
More than 40 religious, cultural grassroots and administrative institutions that are members of the committee contribute to the organization of the programs.
Earlier, another official had noted that the motto of this year’s celebrations is “We Are Proud with You Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS)”, which refers to a Hadith that says Imams (AS) are the source of pride for believers.
