Ahlulbayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement has informed Egyptian and Qatari mediators and Türkiye of its agreement to a ceasefire proposal.
The head of the Hamas Movement’s political bureau, Ismail Haneyya, held a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday evening, informing him of Hamas’s acceptance of a ceasefire proposal mediated by intermediaries.
Erdogan told Haneyya that he welcomed Hamas’s decision, emphasizing the necessity for Israel to take concrete steps towards a lasting ceasefire.
Earlier, the Hamas Movement declared in a statement its acceptance of a ceasefire proposal mediated by the Egyptian and Qatari intermediaries.
“The mujahid brother Ismail Haneyya, the head of the Hamas Movement’s political bureau, had a phone call with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, and with the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, and informed them of the Hamas Movement’s approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement,” the statement reads.
