Students at Oxford and Cambridge join global student action for Gaza

Hundreds of students from the prestigious universities of Oxford and Cambridge in Britain have joined the global student action in support of Palestine, following the footsteps of protests that originated from Columbia University in the United States and spread to several universities around the world.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hundreds of students from the prestigious universities of Oxford and Cambridge in Britain have joined the global student action in support of Palestine, following the footsteps of protests that originated from Columbia University in the United States and spread to several universities around the world.

According to Anadolu Agency, pro-Palestine students at Oxford University erected tents in the gardens of the Pitt Rivers Museum, demanding that the university sever ties with companies collaborating with Israel in the aftermath of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

On the other hand, students from Cambridge University announced that they would camp on King's Parade to protest their university's investments in companies cooperating with Israel.

They stated that their university's support for the genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza compelled them to take action, refusing to remain indifferent to the situation.

Meanwhile, students set up camp in the premises of the University of Amsterdam on Monday, demanding that the university cut all ties with Israel due to its aggression against Gaza.

On April 18, students and academics opposed to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip began a sit-in at Columbia University in New York City, demanding that the administration cease academic cooperation with Israeli universities and withdraw investments from companies supporting the occupation of Palestinian territories.
