AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has called upon the international community to act responsibly and stop the Israeli regime’s genocidal war against Palestinians in the ravaged Gaza Strip.
Sudani made the plea on Saturday as he inaugurated the 50th session of the Arab Labor Conference in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad.
The Iraqi prime minister noted that the conference comes at the time of challenging circumstances both at regional and global levels, pointing to the ongoing bloody onslaught on people in Gaza as well as flagrant violations of international law and UN resolutions.
He called on the international community and world bodies to act responsibly and stop Israeli atrocities in Gaza on the basis of humanitarian and ethical obligations, and in accordance with international resolutions.
At least 34,388 people have died across Gaza since October 7 last year, when the Israeli regime started attacking the blockaded strip of land in response to Operation Al-Aqsa Storm by the territory’s resistance movements.
Women and children comprise some 72 percent of the victims of the war, which has also wounded as many as 77,437 others.
Despite the unabated campaign of bloodshed and destruction, the regime has so far fallen short of realizing its goals, including defeating Gaza’s resistance and causing forced displacement of the territory’s entire population to neighboring Egypt.
