Ahlulbayt News Agency: Major-General Aharon Haliva, head of the Zionist military intelligence, has announced his resignation, according to local media.
The resignation has been attributed to the failure to stop October 7 Hamas surprise attack on the occupied lands while it came amid heightened tensions between the Israeli Zionist regime and Iran.
In a statement, the Zionist military said: "The head of the Intelligence Division, Major General Aharon Haliva, in coordination with the Chief of Staff, requested to end his position following his command responsibility as head of the National Security Agency in the events of October 7."
Shortly following the October 7 attack, Haliva was reported saying: "Already that morning I understood that it was over.”
Many believe that his resignation may be connected to recent tensions with Iran for his miscalculations of Tehran’s response to an air strike against its consular building in Damascus which resulted in a barrage missiles against the Israeli-occupied territories by Iran last week.
