Palestinians asked to defend Al-Aqsa from Zionist plot

The Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas has called on the people in the occupied West Bank and al-Quds to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and defeat the Zionist plot from Friday prayers until Monday.

Hamas, in a statement said, the purpose of the call is to counter the efforts of the extreme Zionists to disrespect Al-Aqsa and hold a sacrificial ceremony inside the mosque complex, IRNA cited a report from the Palestinian Shahab news agency.

We appreciate the Palestinian people in the West Bank, the territories occupied in 1948, and the pilgrims of Al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds, who with their resistance and sacrifice have proven that they are at the forefront of defending the first Qiblah and the third holiest site of Islam, the statement said.

The Hamas movement further extended its support for those who have been fighting to defend al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque and confront the fascist efforts of the occupying regime's cabinet and war criminals such as Itamar Ben-Gvir.

We ask the Islamic Ummah and all free people around the world to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque, al-Quds and Gaza and the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian nation until the end of the aggression of the occupying regime and the achievement of the Palestinians' rights and the freedom of their land and sanctuaries, the statement added.

Israeli settlers backed by the regime’s forces often storm the complex in breach id the status quo affirmed in 1967, under which only Muslims can pray within al-Haram al-Sharif, also known as the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which consists of 14 hectares (35 acres).

Since the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, the regime’s forces have restricted Palestinian Muslims' access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly on Fridays.
