Lebanon front heats up: Israeli casualties as Hezbollah missiles pound Israeli sites

The pro-Gaza front in south Lebanon heats up today as Hezbollah has fired more than a dozen missiles, targeting Israeli sites along the border between Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Hebrew media described the situation on Wednesday morning as “tensed”, noting that Hezbollah has launched more than ten missiles overnight and early on Wednesday.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, Hezbollah’s Military Media declared several missile strikes against Israeli sites in the Zionist entity’s north.

Before midnight on Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted an Israeli military vehicle as it entered Mutela site, employing appropriate weapons, the first statement on Wednesday said, adding that the vehicle was directly hit resulting in casualties among its crew.

Early on Wednesday, the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted (at 07:30) the command headquarters of Brigade 91 in Branit Barracks with a Burkan rocket, hitting it directly, the second statement said.

Few minutes later (at 07:50), the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted a newly deployed group of Israeli soldiers south of Branit Barracks with rocket weapons and artillery shells, according to the third statement.

The fourth strike took place at 08:30, when the Islamic Resistance fighters hit a gathering of Israeli enemy soldiers in the vicinity of Ramya site with rocket weapons and artillery shells, the statement read.

Later at 08:50, the Islamic Resistance fighters once again targeted the newly deployed Israeli enemy soldiers south of Branit Barracks with rocket weapons, the fifth statement read.

The sixth strike took place later at 11:30, when the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted the Meron Air Control Center with guided missiles, the statement read, adding that the base’s equipment were hit.

Later at 13:15, the Islamic Resistance fighters launched a double-attack, employing guided missiles and explosive-laden drones, targeting the newly established headquarters of the military surveillance command in Arab Al-Aramsha, the seventh statement read, confirming that the strike resulted in direct hits.

The eighth statement affirmed that the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted at 3:40 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Zibdeen Barracks in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with Falaq rockets, inflicting direct hits.

Islamic Resistance fighters targeted at 3:50 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the espionage equipment at Al-Ramtha site in the occupied Lebanese hills of Kfar Shuba with appropriate weapons, inflicting direct hits, the ninth statement mentioned.

Israeli media reported the strike on Arab Al-Aramsha, acknowledging that seven Israelis were hurt, including 2 in serious condition.

Photos and videos circulated on social media and by Israeli media showed the strike on Arab Al-Aramsha.

Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah’s Military Media released a video showing the Islamic Resistance’s strike targeting the Iron Dome platform in the settlement of Kfar Blum in northern occupied Palestine using assault drones.

Ynet reported that tensions in the north were escalating in the last two days. “After four soldiers from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit were wounded in a cross-border operation on Monday, dozens of rockets have been launched at (Israeli) bases, including Meron and another base which Hezbollah claims hosts an Iron Dome battery. Additionally, two Hezbollah explosive drones from Lebanon exploded Tuesday afternoon near Beit Hillel in the Galilee Panhandle, lightly wounding three Israelis.”
