Muqtada Sadr called for coordination with Saudi Arabia to restore graves of Al-Baqi Cemetery

The leader of Iraq's Sadr movement called for coordination with the government of Saudi Arabia to restore the graves of Imams (a.s.) in Al-Baqi Cemetery.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The leader of Iraq's Sadr movement called for coordination with the government of Saudi Arabia to restore the graves of Imams (a.s.) in Al-Baqi Cemetery.

"After seeing the change in the policies of Saudi Arabia and the open social space in this country, and the rejection of extremism in it by the respected brother Mohammed bin Salman, an opportunity has been provided to Let us remind them of the restoration of the graves of Imams in Al-Baqi Cemetery especially that we are on the anniversary of their destruction at the hands of the extremists at that time," Muqtada Sadr wrote in a tweet on X site.

"The destruction of the graves of Baqi Imams is outside the Shariah, ideological and social frameworks of all charters, religions, beliefs, affiliations and moderate and correct thoughts, especially since those whose graves were destroyed are representatives of all Islamic and human affiliations and is also stated in the Qur'an," he added.

Sadr continued this tweet that "So those whom God has removed impurity from and made pure, we and you have been commanded to love, respect and obey them unconditionally."

The leader of the Sadr movement noted: "The preservation of their graves and the restoration of those graves are in the framework of friendship."

"Destroying their graves is a crime that cannot be forgiven, and restoring them is an honor that cannot be counted. I call on the Iraqi parliament and government to coordinate with the government of Saudi Arabia and the relevant authorities in order to carry out this unifying project," he added.
