AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Foreign Minister, in a phone call with his Indian counterpart, informed him about Iran's legitimate defense and punishment of the Israeli regime.
According to IRNA, Hossein Amirabdollahian and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar exchanged views on a host of regional and international issues.
The top Iranian diplomat called on the Indian government to continue its role through international institutions, including the United Nations, in stopping the war in Gaza, which he said is the root of the ongoing crises in the region.
The Islamic Republic wants a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and the establishment of peace and security in the region from the Mediterranean coast to the Red Sea, Amirabdollahian emphasized.
Jaishankar, for his part, stated that the focus should be on reducing tensions and improving the situation by resolving disputes.
During his talks, the top Indian diplomat expressed concern about the condition of 17 Indian crew members on the ship seized by Iran and requested Tehran’s assistance in this regard.
Amirabdollahian said that Indian officials are following up on the details of the seized ship and soon it will be possible for Indian government representatives to meet with the crew of the vessel.
