Ahlulbayt News Agency: Participants in a conference held in the Turkish capital of Ankara on the holy city of al-Quds underlined the need for helping the people of Palestine.
The conference “Unity in the Shadow of al-Quds” was held by the Iranian Cultural Center in Ankara Thursday with the aim of promoting the discourse of resistance.
Iran’s Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Hassan Habibullahzaeh in his speech referred to the naming of the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day by Imam Khomeini (RA) and said liberation of al-Quds was among the concerns of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.
He also referred to the situation in the Gaza Strip and slammed the Israeli regime’s attacks on civilians, the blockade of Gaza and other crimes.
South Africa’s Ambassador to Turkey Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba was another speaker at the conference.
She hailed the organization of the event and highlighted her country’s continued support for the people of Palestine.
She also noted that her country’s parliament has decided to sever diplomatic ties with the Israeli regime until Tel Aviv agrees to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Director General of the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) Mahmud Erol Kilic in his address underscored the Palestinians’ ownership of occupied lands and said Palestine was usurped by Israel via a British conspiracy and the oppression, killing and pillage of Palestine have continued since then.
He said the oppressed people of Palestine seek their legitimate rights and everyone must support them in their struggle.
He also stressed the need to not turn a blind eye to the Israeli regime’s moves against the holy city of al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile, Leader of Turkey’s Felicity Party Temel Karamollaoglu invited all to help the Palestinian people at a time they are facing the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza.
