AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Like many countries across the world, International Quds Day has also been observed in Nicaragua at the initiative and planning of Iran's representative office in the Central American country.
According to IRNA, a commemoration ceremony was held at the National University of Managua on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, with the presence of more than five hundred students, professors and academic staff of the university.
The president and members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Nicaragua and Iran as well as ambassadors and representatives of other diplomatic missions of friendly and aligned countries including Russia, Venezuela, Libya, Honduras and Colombia attended the event.
The ceremony was started with speeches by Ramona Rodríguez, the president of Unan University, and Moslem Chenari, the head of Iran's representation in Managua, and then by the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Nicaragua and Iran.
The speeches were accompanied by enthusiasm among the students and the audience who chanted slogans such as Long live Palestine and declared their support for the cause of Palestine and condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime.
During the ceremony, several short clips of the Israeli genocide and battle of the resistance forces against the Zionist invaders were shown in Spanish language. The participants also took a tour of a photo and poster exhibition on Gaza and Palestinian resistance.
