Ahlulbayt News Agency: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has denounced in strong terms the recent Israeli missile attack targeting Iran’s consulate section of the embassy in Damascus that left seven martyrs.
The Secretary General of OIC, in a message issued early after the attack on Monday, condemned the attack as a violation of the international laws that protects the sanctity of diplomatic missions.
Hissein Brahim Taha stressed that the attack also constitutes a violation of international laws and norms, including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
The OIC Secretary General, in an earlier phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian referred to the criminal record of the Israeli regime.
He extended condolences to the Iranian nation and government and emphasized the OIC mission in this regard.
An Israeli missile strike on Monday targeted the consular section of Iranian embassy in the capital Damascus, Syria killing seven including a senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Hossein Akbari vowed that Tehran will give decisive response to the attack.
