AhlulBayt News Agency: Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday evening, said to the visiting poets and cultural and literary figures and elite that the Farsi poetry is a unique and powerful medium in the era of media war.
Ayatollah Khamenei, expressing satisfaction with continuation and moving to the climax of Farsi poetry, added, "The unique heritage of Farsi poetry and literature, as a powerful, effective and influential media, should be used in the best way in this arena and the messages of religion, civilization, Iranianness, steadfastness and courage should be conveyed to the world public opinion."
The Leader went on to say, "Of course, the condition for effectiveness of the poetry media is to be artistic and being artistic pertains to 'solid and firm vocabulary', 'finding of theme', and 'way of expressing the subject'."
Ayatollah Khamenei, calling the choice of suitable and useful message as another condition for effectiveness and durability of poetry, saying, "The poetry media should convey the message of 'religion and ethics'."
The message of the Iranian people's courageous steadfastness against oppression and excessive demand of the global bullies and its symbols, i.e. the US and Zionists, are among the outstanding messages that can be conveyed, reiterating, "The message of the Iranian people's steadfastness and clear and unconditioned expressing of their stances against the arrogant is very important and motivating for the world people, examples of welcoming these stances have occurred in the foreign trips of presidents and their speeches among popular gatherings."
The Leader, then, expressed some recommendations to poets and those active in the field of Farsi poetry and literature, and said, "A good poem should be exposed to the world public opinion; so, the translation movement should be created in order to present poems with poetic, eloquent and strong prose to others. This important and hard job is the duty of the government."
Strengthening of people's literary memory and making the youth's minds creative to use poems in time and properly and emphasis on studying and learning from the works of prominent poets were other recommendations of the Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei, expressing regret over the Farsi language's being oppressed in the face of assault of foreign words, stressed to safeguard this attractive and spreadable language, adding, "In the face of this assault, Farsi equivalents should be used, some of which are more beautiful and easier to use, and, with decreasing foreign words, the purity of Farsi language should be increased."
In the beginning of this visit, some of the poets introduced their poems to the Leader that have been published in book-form.
A number of these poets read out some of their poems in praise of Imam Hassan (PBUH) and Imam Mahdi (May God hasten his reappearance), praise of the position of parents, social and political issues and the crimes committed to the people of Gaza, especially women and children.
Then they stood for congregational Maghreb (Sunset) Prayer led by the Leader.
