Protest organized in front of United Nations to demand end to violations against journalists in Gaza

A number of international human rights defenders organized a symbolic vigil in front of the United Nations building in the Swiss city of Geneva, during which they demanded an end to the Zionist attacks on journalists in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A number of international human rights defenders organized a symbolic vigil in front of the United Nations building in the Swiss city of Geneva, during which they demanded an end to the Zionist attacks on journalists in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

According to the Palestine Today News Agency, the participants in the protest raised photos of the martyred journalists Hamza al-Dahduh, Samer Abu Daqa and Shirin Abu Aqla, in addition to photos of Al Jazeera correspondent Wael al-Dahduh, who was injured and lost his wife and some of his children, as well as photos of the injured journalist Ismail Abu Omar.

The participants said that they want to put an end to what journalists are being subjected to in Gaza, pointing out to the martyrdom of 136 journalists, “the highest number of journalists ever killed in such a short period in any conflict in modern history”.

At a seminar on the protection of journalists during conflicts within the United Nations, participants called for the Zionist entity to be held accountable for its crimes against journalists.

Participants in the seminar considered that the state of impunity contributed to the strengthening of these violations and one participant said that punishment is necessary because Israel’s killing of journalists is not a new thing.

Previously, the government media office in the Gaza Strip had announced that the death toll of journalists had risen to 136 since the seventh of last October.
