Support for Zionist regime a blatant violation of human rights: Iran FM spox

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has said that support for the Israeli regime is the most blatant violation of human rights, as he criticized Western countries for hypocrisy when it comes to democracy, human rights as well as international peace and security.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has said that support for the Israeli regime is the most blatant violation of human rights, as he criticized Western countries for hypocrisy when it comes to democracy, human rights as well as international peace and security.

“The political, economic, military, financial, legal and international support for the Zionist regime, which has an illegal identity and is terrorist and accused of war crimes and genocide and is a violator of human rights and international humanitarian law, is an example of the most blatant and biggest violation of human rights, and is a non-democratic and dictatorial behavior in international relations”, Kanaani said in a post he shared on X social media platform on Sunday.

He also criticized Western countries for pushing for wars in the world despite claiming to advocate human rights and respect global peace and security.

The stance of those countries on the Gaza war, which has so far left more than 31,000 people dead, is another sign showing how much these countries are committed to their own slogans of supporting human rights and international peace, spokesman said, adding that the same countries have also blocked efforts at stopping the genocide in Gaza despite global uproar over the unprecedented crimes against the people of Gaza.

What has happened to the innocent Palestinian nation during the nearly six months of war, especially to women and children, shows a “scandal” of the West and is a clear sign of insincerity of Western countries when it comes to human and moral principles as well as international law.
