AhlulBayt News Agency: The French magazine "Liberation" has recently published a racist cartoon, depicting the hunger of people in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan.
In the racist and insulting cartoon, a Palestinian woman is shown sitting next to her child whose tongue is hanging out due to hunger, and an angry man with water flowing from his mouth chasing rats with bones in their mouths. The man tries to take the bones from the rats' mouths, but the woman tells him not to do this before sunset, referring to the time when Muslims break their fast.
The editor-in-chief of Liberation, Dov Alfon, a former member of the Israeli military intelligence unit, oversees the magazine, which is owned by French-Israeli billionaire Patrick Drahi.
Some activists have described this cartoon as an example of Islamophobia in France, while others accused the West of hypocrisy and adopting double standards.
