AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Custodian of Imam Reza shrine has called returning to the Holy Quran teachings the only way to solve problems in the Islamic world.
Speaking in the opening ceremony of the National Quran Competitions finale administered by the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad for the residents of rural areas and nomads in Imam Reza shrine, in northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, Hoj Ahmad Marvi called the Quran Prophet Muhammad’s miracle and a unique book.
Adding that ordinary humans cannot create a similar book, the custodian pointed to machinations of infidels during early days of Islam, whose multiple attempts all but led to disgrace for them and proved human’s inability to create such a work.
He cited miracles of the Prophet, stating: “In history, God’s prophets have always presented miracles proportionate with their time and place to prove their prophethood. All those miracle were limited to the prophets’ lifetime ending with their departure. However, Prophet Muhammad’s miracle – the Holy Quran – is still alive and acts as a guiding beacon 14 centuries after his demise”.
“The Quran is a miracle for humanity until the Day of Judgment. It can save people from ignorance, deviation and cruelty towards happiness, prosperity and divine standing. Quranic verses can penetrate hearts and minds and transform them; stories abound over history that many have experienced spiritual revolution after hearing only one verse, saved from the wrong path and guided to the righteousness”, Hoj Marvi added.
He further explained that the Prophet was chosen for the mission at a time when the Arab society was starkly distant from human ethos, and horrendous acts such as burying girls live, war and bloodthirstiness were honor. “However, the Prophet could awaken the Arabs of the Jahiliyyah”.
Attributing today’s problems of the Islamic Ummah to distancing from the Quran, the custodian said: “The Quran granted Muslims an honorable status; Islamic community once was spearheading science and civilization thanks to the Holy Quran; however, Muslims have been separated from the Quran”.
He concluded his remarks by urging the Quranic reciters to not only recite, but also practice what the Quran advises.
