Palestinians will definitely win Gaza war: Iran President

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has said that the Palestinian people will definitely emerge victorious against the Zionist regime in the ongoing war on Gaza, and called on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to convict the regime as soon as possible to help bring an end to the occupation of Palestinian land and crimes against its people.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has said that the Palestinian people will definitely emerge victorious against the Zionist regime in the ongoing war on Gaza, and called on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to convict the regime as soon as possible to help bring an end to the occupation of Palestinian land and crimes against its people.

“We have certainty that the victory of the Palestinian people and the defeat of the Zionist regime and its supporters are definite”, Raisi said on Sunday during a joint press conference with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune in Algiers.

The ICJ should convict the Israeli regime as soon as possible to help bring an immediate end to bombings and occupation, and make the Zionist regime and its supporters stand trial and be punished, the Iranian president said in reference to separate cases brought at the UN court on Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its decades-long occupation of Palestinian territories.

Raisi also said that Iran and Algeria share the same stance on the ongoing war in Gaza, with both countries asserting that the Israeli regime is committing war crimes in the besieged Palestinian territory.

The Iranian president meanwhile criticized the US and some Western states for supporting the Israeli regime, saying that “their hands are stained with the blood of the innocent people of Gaza.”

He also criticized certain Islamic countries for maintaining their relations with the regime despite its continued crimes against Gazans, stressing that cutting off political and economic ties with the regime will help prevent further crimes against Palestinians.

Iran will continue to support the Palestinian people, and believes that the rights of the Palestinian people are upheld through elections and voting by all of them including Muslims, Christians and Jews, he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Raisi spoke about ties between Iran and Algeria, saying that the authorities of the two countries are determined to boost economic and trade cooperation and develop political ties.

Raisi headed to Tehran on Sunday night, ending his two-day visit to Algeria where he attended the 7th Summit of the Heads of State of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) a day earlier.

He also held bilateral meetings with some of the world leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

Raisi’s trip to Algeria was the first official visit by an Iranian president to the North African country in 14 years.
