AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani, one of Iran’s top senior clerics has passed away at the age of 92.
Reports suggest that Ayatollah Kashani died of a heart attack, late on Saturday.
Born on the 3rd of October 1931, Ayatollah Kashani was an interim leader of Tehran Friday Prayers and served as a member of the Assembly of Experts, a key deliberative body tasked with supervising and electing the country’s Supreme Leader.
The senior cleric was also the head of Shahid Motahari University in Tehran and performed various seminary roles after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
