The Egyptian foreign minister said that Egypt and Iran are united in supporting the Palestinian issue and stopping crimes against the Palestinian nation.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Egyptian foreign minister said that Egypt and Iran are united in supporting the Palestinian issue and stopping crimes against the Palestinian nation.

On the second day of his visit to Geneva, the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and held talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Hassan Shoukry.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

At the beginning, the Iranian foreign minister referred to the meeting of the Iranian and Egyptian presidents in Riyadh and considered it a new starting point in the relations between the two countries.

Emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants nothing but good for Egypt and the region, he said, "We consider Egypt's security as Iran's security."

The cooperation of the two countries, including in supporting Palestine, will have a positive impact on the entire region, he further said.

He also attached great importance to Egypt's role in supporting Palestine and helping to lift the human blockade of Gaza.

Amir-Abdollahian called the occupying Israeli regime the root cause of the crisis in the region and emphasized the need to continue joint efforts to stop the genocide of Palestinians and to send humanitarian aid to the Palestinian nation immediately.

The Egyptian foreign minister also said that Egypt and Iran are united in supporting the Palestinian issue and stopping crimes against the Palestinian nation.

"We will do our best to support the Palestinian nation, and Cairo and Tehran have a common point of view in supporting Palestine," Sameh Shoukry said.

Expressing his satisfaction with the revival of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Shoukry said that he would like the future relations between Iran and Egypt to be built on solid foundations.
