AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The second ship carrying Iran’s humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip has left the Strait of Hormuz, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society said.
Pir Hossein Kolivand told the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) that the data-x-items have been collected by people across the country for the oppressed people of Gaza.
The data-x-items include medicines and healthcare equipment, food, clothing, and blankets, he noted.
Kolivand added that the Iranian Red Crescent Society is ready to collect more supplies as the humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza are much greater than those sent to the Palestinian enclave so far.
He noted that this is the second batch of Iranian humanitarian aid being dispatched to the Gaza Strip by sea, adding that the country’s foreign minister has been conducting international negotiations for coordination to send more aid to the besieged Palestinian territory.
So far more than 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid has been sent to Gaza by the Iranian people, he went on to say.
The Israeli regime launched a deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7 that has killed at least 27,238 Palestinians and injured 66,452.
The Israeli offensive has left 85% of Gaza’s population internally displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
