AhlulBayt News Agemcy: Belgium summoned the Israeli ambassador after the office building housing the Belgian Agency for Development Cooperation (Enabel) in Gaza was bombed and destroyed by Israeli airstrikes, the country’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement announced.
In a statement, the foreign ministry termed the destruction of civilian infrastructure as “absolutely unacceptable” and a violation of international law.
“The ministry will also raise the issue of compensation for the damaged infrastructure of projects financed by the European Union and member states with its EU partners, according to the statement.
Belgium has called for an immediate ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The attack occurred on Wednesday, destroying Enabel’s offices in northern Gaza, with no staff present during the bombing.
The agency’s offices are located in a building on Victor Hugo Street in the central Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City.
