AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The police commander in the Iranian province of Fars says that two officers have been martyred and four others have been injured in an armed confrontation with narcotics smugglers in the southern province.
Speaking to the IRNA on Tuesday, Brigadier General Rohhambakhsh Habibi said that the police officers had been martyred in the city of Neyriz after they clashed with smugglers travelling in a car in the city.
Habibi said four gunmen had shot the police officers after their vehicle was ordered to stop, adding that the smugglers had quickly escaped the scene of the attack.
He identified the martyred officers as Major Reza Shahsavani and Sergeant Major Ali Shahsavani, adding that four others were injured in the assault.
