AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahrain’s most prominent Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim warned against the Manama regime’s anti-Islam policies.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Sheikh Qassim referred to Manama regime’s plan to change the public holiday from Friday and described it as a move against Islam.
He said the Al Khalifa regime seeks to uproot Islam in the Persian Gulf Arab country, the Bahrain Mirror reported.
He said the Muslim nation of Bahrain could not remain silent on attempts at undermining their religion.
If the Muslim nation is determined (to defend their religion), any such decision will end up in failure, he underlined.
Last week, Sheikh Ali al-Sadadi, another Bahraini cleric, deplored the regime’s decision, saying Friday is a holiday observed by Muslims in all countries and not a working day.
It is a day on which people gather to worship God and perform the obligatory practice of congregational prayer, he said.
He said adopting other people’s holidays and canceling the Islamic holiday is unacceptable and contrary to what God’s religion demands.
