AhlulBayt News Agency: Late on January 22, the local sources announced several explosions in Sana’a, the capital city of Yemen, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah and Al-Bayda. An hour later, it became clear that the positions of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement were the target of a new round of US airstrikes.

According to the Yemeni official sources, the targeted areas were Sana’a: Al-Hafa base 4 times, Al-Dailami airbase (at Sana’a airport) 4 times, Sarf area 2 times. Taiz: Al-Barah area in the Muqbana district once, Al-Jand area in the Taiziyah district once and Al-Baydha: once in the Radaa district.

The US CENTCOM also released a statement explaining the details of the air attack on Yemen.

It is stated in this statement that on January 22 at 23:59 (Yemen time), CENTCOM forces alongside UK Armed Forces, and with the support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands, conducted strikes on 8 Houthi (Ansar Allah Movement) targets in the areas under the control of the Houthis in Yemen. These strikes are intended to degrade Ansar Allah’s capability to attack American and British ships in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden.

According to the US claim, the targets that were bombed tonight included missile systems and launchers, air defense systems, radars, and deeply buried weapons storage facilities.

The United States also announced that tonight’s military aggression against Yemen is separate and distinct from the actions carried out by the American naval coalition under the title “Operation Prosperity Guardian” in the Red Sea.
