US supporting 'Jaish al-Adl' terrorist group: Pakistan ex-envoy

Former ambassador and foreign secretary of Pakistan Shamshad Ahmad Khan has emphasized the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran's concerns about the threat of terrorism at the joint borders, saying that the US is supporting the "Jaish al-Adl" terrorist group.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Former ambassador and foreign secretary of Pakistan Shamshad Ahmad Khan has emphasized the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran's concerns about the threat of terrorism at the joint borders, saying that the US is supporting the "Jaish al-Adl" terrorist group.

Ahmad Khan made the remarks on Pakistani television on Friday and criticized his country's government and army for their inadequate measures to prevent terrorist movements near the borders with Iran.

Warning adventurism by the US and the Zionist regime in the region, the veteran Pakistani diplomat added that the recent events are not limited to Iran-Pakistan relations, but also part of foreign plots to destroy regional security and good ties between Iran and Pakistan.

He added that the "Jaish al-Adl" terrorist group has been committing anti-security measures against Iran for years and has carried out numerous attacks from Pakistani territory, so it is Iranians' legitimate right to be worried in such a case.

Describing the Islamic Republic of Iran as a free and independent country in the region, he underlined that Iran has taken legitimate action against terrorist threats.

Earlier, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched assaults on the hideout of a terrorist group known as Jaish al-Adl (better known in Iran as Jaish al-Dhulm) in Pakistan. These strikes were a direct response to acts of terror targeting Iran, the most recent instances being the tragic loss of over 90 innocent lives in Kerman and the killing of 11 policemen in Iran’s easter town of Rask.
