AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Italians, Palestinians, and Arabs of all ages marched in Rome on Saturday to express solidarity with the people of Gaza and condemn the US and British attack on Yemen.
Thousands of Italians and supporters of Palestine chanted "Free Palestine," "Free Jerusalem," and "Freedom for Gaza" during the protest. The marchers called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, holding Palestinian flags and chanting anti-Israeli slogans.
Foad Aodi, a Palestinian physician living in Italy, described the situation in Gaza as catastrophic, stating that people, especially women and children, are being massacred daily. He emphasized the urgent need for field hospitals, doctors, and medicine in Gaza.
The protesters also criticized Italy's right-wing government for supporting the Zionist regime despite its widespread crimes.
Cristiano Armadi, an Italian activist, highlighted Italy's role as one of the important European countries sending weapons to Israel.
He criticized the government's business relations with Israel as a reason for its continued support of Tel Aviv.
The marchers also expressed support for South Africa's action against the Zionist regime and called for accountability for its widespread crimes in Palestine and Gaza.
The South African government has filed a case against Israel at the International Court of Justice for committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets across the world to protest against Israel’s war in Gaza, as it nears the 100-day mark on Sunday.
People gathered at rallies in Malaysia, and the United Kingdom on Saturday, as well as at other protests in Thailand, Japan, Italy, Greece, and Pakistan. Thousands of people also gathered outside the US embassy in Jakarta, waving Indonesian and Palestinian flags and holding signs that read “Boycott Israel” and “Ceasefire Now”.
In Johannesburg, demonstrators gathered outside the US consulate for a protest bolstered by South Africa's case of genocide against Israel at the International Court of Justice this week.
The demonstrations are part of a “global day of action for Palestine” and to call for an end to the bloodshed that has killed 23,843 people and wounded more than 60,317, according to Palestinian health officials.
