"Seasons of repression" report in Bahrain not only statistics, rather human suffering of oppressed people: Shia cleric

Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, confirmed that the reason for naming the society's report on human rights violations for the year 2022 "Seasons of Repression" is "an indication that the authority seeks to turn some events or occasions into an opportunity for repression or political revenge, which explains the emergence of some political tension from time to time."

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, confirmed that the reason for naming the society's report on human rights violations for the year 2022 "Seasons of Repression" is "an indication that the authority seeks to turn some events or occasions into an opportunity for repression or political revenge, which explains the emergence of some political tension from time to time."

Sheikh Al-Daihi added, in a speech during the launch of the human rights report, that "the image of political repression is multiple and is not limited to one violation or one image."

He drew attention to the fact that "the figures documented (in the report) are not just statistics, but numbers that stems from the heart of the human suffering of an oppressed people," noting that "with more than 1,700 raids, 100 arrests, 41 cases of torture and 250 cases of ill-treatment in prisons, we find ourselves today facing a grave challenge represented in protecting the fundamental rights and human dignity that are being violated every day in our dear homeland, Bahrain."

On the other hand, Sheikh Al-Daihi again condemned "the unprecedented war crimes that are happening today in occupied Palestine, where the occupation entity has targeted all segments of society and civil and religious facilities."

"This brutality in killing Palestinians mercilessly comes at a time when so-called humanitarian supporters of this bastard entity lecture what they call the right of self-defence, and work to distort the image of the Palestinian struggle by dubbing it a terrorist," he said.

He added "Our people in Bahrain can only stand in the side of defending this just (Palestinian) cause in light of the complicity of many Zionist governments, including the government of Bahrain, which does not represent our dear people."
