AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The trial of Johan Floderus, a Swedish national accused of spying for the Israeli regime, has commenced in the Revolutionary Court of Tehran.
The first session was held in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran on Sunday, where the judge in the case requested the prosecutor's representative to read the indictment issued by the Tehran Prosecutor's Office against the defendant.
Floderus’ attorneys and an official translator were present in the court.
The prosecutor's representative read out the charges against Floderus before the judge, which included “extensive measures against national security through extensive intelligence collaboration with the Zionist regime.
“As per the report and documents provided by the Ministry of Intelligence, investigations conducted, and statements made by the defendant, he has been in contact with agents of the Zionist regime,” the prosecutor’s representative said.
He said that Floderus has actively collected intelligence “in favor of the Israeli regime” to advance “subversive projects” with the help of American, European and Israeli institutions.
Floderus, who was employed by the European Union, was detained in April 2022 for spying.
