AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The deputy chief of Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center underlined standing by the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip even if the whole world abandon them.
Mohamed al-Duwaini made the remark in a meeting in Cairo with a number of European officials, adding that Palestinians are fighting for their rights and their land and their commitment to their land is a legitimate right.
He said Palestine has been facing recurrent onslaughts, attacks and violations by the Zionist regime.
More than 120,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in recent years but the international community has failed to act, he deplored.
And when the Palestinians defend themselves against the occupation regime’s atrocities, those who had remained silent start to put the blame on the people of Palestine, the cleric stated.
Al-Azhar’s stance is one of moderation and pursuit of peace and tolerance, but also defending the truth and justice and not forgetting human criteria, he stressed.
Al-Duwaini slammed the Zionist regime’s brutal attacks on the people of the Gaza Strip, saying that the killing of innocent civilians, bombing of hospitals, displacement of millions of people and closing border crossings have no justification.
Israeli launched a brutal campaign of killing and destruction in the Gaza Strip on October 7.
Since then the Zionist regime’s war machine has killed more than 16,000 Palestinian people, mostly women and children, in the coastal enclave.
