Ahlulbayt News Agency: The renowned Iranian calligrapher, Azizullah Azarnik, donated a beautifully crafted manuscript of the Noble Qur’an to the Museum of Imam Hussein (AS) Holy Shrine.
The presentation took place during the calligrapher’s meeting with Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai, the representative of Iraq's top Shia cleric Ayatollah Seyed Ali al-Sistani in Karbala, the press service of the shrine reported on Sunday.
Azarnik, the calligrapher, provided insights into the distinguished features of the artwork.
“The writing process spanned 11 consecutive months, employing the Naskh script. The finest quality paper (30 x 40) was meticulously selected, and a delicate copper pen was used,” he said.
“The decoration showcased natural colors, with gold water enhancing the first three pages and the names of the surahs. The blessed verses were meticulously numbered, and the weight of the Noble Quran amounted to 20 kilograms,” added the artist.
“The accompanying ornate box, crafted from the finest Russian wood in Isfahan, weighs 7 kilograms,” he noted.
A ceremony was conducted to receive the Noble Quran at the revered shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).
In recognition of his contribution, the calligrapher received a certificate of appreciation and was honored with a flag of Imam Hussein shrine.
