AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Mushaf-e Mashhad-e Razavi is the most complete collection of handwritten Quran in Hijazi script from the first century AH, a copy of which was donated to Senior Cleric Grand Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli.
A printed copy of Mushaf-e Mashhad-e Razavi was presented to Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli by Astan Quds Razavi on Friday, November 24.
At the beginning of this meeting, Dr. Karimi Nia, who researched this old version with the support of the House of Grand Ayatollah Sistani and also the Mashhad library of Imam Reza, peace be upon him, said in the explanation of this Mushaf,” This Mushaf is one of the most complete old versions and the oldest Holy Quran written in Hijazi script, although there are other old versions of the Holy Quran, but the complete script of Quran is exceedingly rare at this level, and this version is one of the most complete, which contains more than 95% of the existing Quran.
He stated,” A few pages of this Holy Quran were referred to the world's copywriting centers, and after taking a carbon-14 test, it was determined that this Quran dates back to the years 60 to 90 After Hijra.”
Mushaf-e Mashhad-e Razavi is the most complete collection of manuscripts of the Quran in Hijazi script from the first Islamic century, which is kept in the Astan Quds Razavi library in holy Mashhad.
The unveiling ceremony of Mushaf-e Mashhad-e Razavi as the most complete collection of Quran written in Hijazi script was held on Thursday, November 20, in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) in Mashhad.
