Demonstrators demand Gaza ceasefire as 'Peace Boat' arrives in Egypt’s Port Said

A cruise ship named the 'Peace Boat' arrived at Egypt’s Port Said on Wednesday bearing the slogan 'Stop killing Gaza' on a large banner in a show of solidarity with the people of Palestine.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A cruise ship named the 'Peace Boat' arrived at Egypt’s Port Said on Wednesday bearing the slogan 'Stop killing Gaza' on a large banner in a show of solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Footage shows dozens of protesters, who had gathered at the port to welcome the ship and demand an immediate ceasefire, holding placards displaying messages such as, 'Stop the killing' and 'Save Gaza'.

"We have a long relation with people in Gaza and organizations in Gaza so we are making an appeal to the international society so that the bombing will stop," said a Peace Boat representative.

The Peace Boat is on a global tour to promote peace in the Middle East. The ship arrived in Egypt with 1,800 passengers aboard, many of whom joined the demonstration.

The cruise has already visited Athens and Istanbul and will travel from Port Said to Colombo in Sri Lanka next.

Israel has been waging a genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza since October 7.

Since then, the Zionist regime has killed at least 11,100 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured about 27,500 others.

Israel has predominantly targeted the civilian infrastructure of Gaza, bombing hospitals, schools, mosques, and refugee camps.

The regime has also imposed a “complete siege” on the coastal sliver, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.

United Nations experts have warned against 'collective punishment' for the people of Gaza, before predicting a 'humanitarian crisis' and then claimed that 'hell is settling in' for the region.
