In meeting with Nigerian President;

Pres. Raisi: Veto of cease-fire resolution on Gaza, UN’s inability to stop slaughter in Gaza made reform of its structure inevitable

The President called the UN structure flawed and its sign is the inability to stop the crimes of the Zionists against the oppressed people of Gaza and said, "The vetoing of several ceasefire resolutions in Gaza by the Americans, which is a green light for the Zionists to kill children, is another example of failure in the structure of the United Nations that made its reform inevitable and necessary”.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The President called the UN structure flawed and its sign is the inability to stop the crimes of the Zionists against the oppressed people of Gaza and said, "The vetoing of several ceasefire resolutions in Gaza by the Americans, which is a green light for the Zionists to kill children, is another example of failure in the structure of the United Nations that made its reform inevitable and necessary”.

In a meeting with Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, on the sidelines of the joint meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League in Riyadh, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said that the solution to the problems of the Islamic world depended on the unity and cohesion of the Islamic countries and said, “If the Islamic countries were not divided and stood united in the very first days of the crime against Gaza, the Zionist regime would not dare to start this massacre and genocide, and today 5 thousand innocent Palestinian children were not killed”.

In another part of this meeting, the President listed the development of relations with all African countries, especially Muslim countries, as one of the priorities of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy, and referring to the outstanding demographic, geographical and economic characteristics of Nigeria as one of the most influential countries in the African continent, emphasised the need to improve the level of cooperation of the two countries in all sectors.

The President of Nigeria, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also praised Dr Raisi's enlightening speech at today's meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, as well as the efforts to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, saying, "The United Nations was founded to protect the rights of human beings, but as it is unable to prevent the killing of human beings, structural reform is necessary”.

The President of Nigeria also stressed the need to stop the killing and massacre of innocent women and children in Gaza, and considered unity and solidarity as a necessity for stability in the region.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu further referred to the wide range of cooperation and partnership between Iran and Nigeria and emphasised the need to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries.
