AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The President described resistance and standing as the need of the region today and Lebanon and Palestine as a symbol of resistance and stated, “Some are trying to insinuate that the resistance groups are under the command of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while we have repeatedly denied this claim and stated that the resistance groups are independent in recognition, decision and action”.
On the sidelines of the joint meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League in Riyadh, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi met with Mr Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of the Government of Lebanon, and described the need for resistance in the region and Lebanon, and Palestine as a symbol of resistance today, and while rejecting compromise and retreating against the Zionist enemy stated, “Some are trying to insinuate that the resistance groups are under the command of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while we have repeatedly denied this claim and stated that the resistance groups are independent in recognition, decision and action”.
Dr Raisi described the basis of resistance based on deterring and preventing the aggression of enemies, and emphasising that the Islamic resistance measures of Lebanon's Hezbollah are based on wisdom and rationality, but the Zionist regime has no logic and understands no language but force, he stated, “If this summit does not come to a conclusion, fear is that the nations come to the field themselves”.
Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of the Lebanese government, also described the mere expression of sympathy for the people of Gaza insufficient in this meeting and praised and thanked the diplomatic efforts of Dr Raisi for convergence in the Islamic world around the Palestinian issue and taking practical measures to help the oppressed people of Gaza.
The Prime Minister of Lebanon praised the behaviour based on the wisdom and rationality of Hezbollah against the provocative behaviour of the Zionist regime, and said, “Lebanese Hezbollah has shown that resistance is not only for war, but the effort to create and establish peace for the nations of the region is one of its other important characteristics”.
