AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have urged immediate ceasefire and lifting of the blockade in Gaza.
During a telephone conversation with Modi on Monday, President Raisi said that Iran supports any joint global effort for an immediate ceasefire, lifting the blockade and providing relief to the oppressed people of Gaza.
He added that atrocities in Gaza made people around the globe angry and if the massacre continues, it will have transregional consequences.
Referring to the recent crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, President Raisi noted that Palestinian resistance groups have a legitimate right to confront the occupation of the usurping Zionist regime, and all countries should support the Palestinian people's fight for reaching freedom from oppression.
He described the US as a key partner of the committed crimes in Gaza due to its comprehensive financial, weapons, and intelligence support for the Zionist regime, as well as its veto of Security Council resolutions to end the bombing of Gaza.
Reminding the Indian nation’s history of fights against Western colonialism and its position as one of the founders of the Non-Aligned Movement in the world, President Raisi underlined that India is expected to use all its capacities to end Zionist crime against the oppressed people of Gaza.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian President termed Iran-India ties as strategic and stressed the need to plan for developing cooperation and redressing backwardness in this regard.
Narendra Modi, for his part, condemned the Zionist regime’s atrocities in Gaza and thanked the Iranian president’s supportive and enlightened positions in explaining the true and clear developments in Palestine.
He highlighted that India emphasizes stopping the heinous attacks in Gaza and reopening the crossings to send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
