AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The head of Iran’s Seminary said,” Our belief is that the Islamic seminary, as a main and fundamental pillar, should have a strong and effective relationship with all religious currents.”
Head of Iran’s Islamic Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi had a meeting with Hujjat al-Islam Mokhtari, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Vatican on Saturday, November 4 during which he stated that we believe in extensive relations in the seminary and pointed out that Iran’s Supreme Leader and the Shia sources of emulation have also confirmed this belief; he added,” Today, our relationship with Islamic and non-Islamic centers should reach a high level and needs to be expanded.”
The head of Iran’s Seminary further continued,” We believe that the seminary, as a main and fundamental pillar, should have a strong and effective relationship with all religious centers around the world.”
Stating that the Vatican should be one of our most important communication centers, he said,” Until now, all our relations have been fragmented and they should be organized and developed.”
Ayatollah Alireza Arafi advised the new ambassador of Iran to the Vatican and pointed out that we adhere to the protocols of the embassy and the foreign ministry, and noted,” In addition to these protocols, you should consider deepening the relations between the religious institution of the region and the Vatican institution, and in this way, the management center of Islamic seminary will also provide the necessary support.”
Stating that there is a lot of capacity in scientific and research issues, he clarified,” Our suggestion is to have a common encyclopedia among Shia Islam and the Vatican; Because this encyclopedia can be very effective in deepening bilateral relationships.”
The Ayatollah also expressed the readiness in Qom seminary to develop cooperations, and added,” In the meeting with Pope Francis, we mentioned there are 12 global issues on which we agree, and we suggested that it would be good as chartered religious institutions we reach common ground in such issues.”
