Iran FM discusses Gaza situation with Iraqi, Omani counterparts

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has discussed the ongoing war in Gaza with his counterparts from Iraq and Oman, stressing the importance of supporting the Palestinian people in the blockaded territory where the Israeli regime has intensified its ground and aerial attacks.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has discussed the ongoing war in Gaza with his counterparts from Iraq and Oman, stressing the importance of supporting the Palestinian people in the blockaded territory where the Israeli regime has intensified its ground and aerial attacks.

Amirabdollahian held separate phone talks with Iraq’s Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Oman’s top diplomat Sayyid Badr Albusaidi on Saturday night.

The top Iranian diplomat told his Iraqi counterpart that the continued crimes by the Zionist regime against Palestinian civilians as well as the US’s arms support for the regime are the main causes behind the deepening crisis in Gaza.

Fuad Hussein, on his part, emphasized the need for coordinated action by Islamic countries to support the Palestinian people and prevent the expansion of the war.

Amirabdollahian and his Omani counterpart also stressed the importance of more cooperation by Islamic countries to help stop the Zionist regime’s crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

The two also discussed ways on how to bring an immediate end to the blockade of Gaza, and send humanitarian assistance there, including fuel, food, as well as medicines and medical equipment in the wake of relentless Israeli airstrikes and its ban on imports of essential supplies that have caused a worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Since the start of the war on October 7, the Islamic Republic has stepped up diplomatic efforts to help the Palestinians in Gaza, with FM Amirabdollahian taking two regional tours and holding numerous phone conversations with officials in the region and beyond to help bring an end to the crisis in the coastal territory.
