AhlulBayt News Agency: Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry hailed the people of the country’s warm reception of Quranic circles.
In an announcement published on its official website, the ministry said more than 145,000 people have taken part in the Quranic circles in mosques across the country.
It said the programs held in the governorates of Sohag, Giza and Assiut had the largest number of participants, Al-Watan news website reported.
The ministry noted that in addition to the Quranic circles, it has organized programs featuring Quran contemplation, Quran interpretation and teaching Quran recitation.
It also regularly holds Quran memorization competitions at different levels, Quranic and religious courses in the fields of interpretation, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), etc, the ministry added.
The Awqaf Ministry has on many occasions thanked the Egyptian authorities’ attention to the development of Quranic activities and restoration and development of mosques in the country.
There is however criticism about lack of attention to global standards in restoring historical mosques.
