AhlulBayt News Agency: The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt, Ahmed el-Tayeb, has called on the Arab and Islamic states to urgently stand together and cooperate for the sake of halting the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, calling what is happening as "blind terrorism".
“What has been carried out by the Israeli Zionist occupation in Gaza of intense bombardment, killing, cutting off electricity and internet, destructing all aspects of life, and blocking all sources of information on the massacres and war crimes being committed there, is blind terrorism and clear violation of all humanitarian and legal norms and conventions," el-Tayeb said in a tweet on X.
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar also urged the world to “denounce the Israeli aggression and to take decisive measures to assure bringing it to an immediate end." He stressed that “history will not tolerate those who let down the innocent Palestinians by choosing not to defend them, in addition to those who support the continuance of the Zionist terrorism.”
El-Tayeb asserted that “It is the duty of the Arab and Islamic nation and the free people of the world to unite and come up with an instant solution that would save the lives of the oppressed Palestinian people who have been facing an unprecedented massacre in history.”
The Gaza Strip has been under intense bombardment that has been relentlessly carried out since Friday evening, described as the toughest of its kind since the start of the Israeli aggression 22 days ago. The ongoing attacks have been carried out after completely cutting off internet and communication between Gaza and the outside world.
